What is coming our way?

"Today I did my hair, but yesterday… I only washed it and let it dry! Last week I put on make-up every single day, but this week… I just couldn't care less!" It sounds like a joke, doesn’t it?

Now let’s talk seriously – How many times have we started something that we never finished? How many times did we promise something to our family or friends but after a while we took it back? How many times do we think of something that is going to bring us success, something wonderful, the solution to all our problems? We start dealing with it happy as a clam, and then, suddenly… we get bored, and we stop. “Things are not as easy as I envisaged at the beginning...” is the most convenient excuse we seem to hold on to. The truth? The real aim somehow got lost, we became inconsistent, and those inconsistencies become insurmountable barriers that don’t let us conquer our dreams.

So, let us BE CONSISTENT. The person that is consistent doesn't worry when the plan to lose weight is apparently not working after 3 weeks. I know it's hard to listen, but that's the truth! (lol)

The person that is consistent focus on crossing the final line, and if along the way many obstacles appear, these are seen as ‘little medals’ that you go on collecting along the route preparing you for the ‘big shiny trophy’ at the end of that race.

Someone once told me that when you do something for 21 days consecutive this becomes natural to you - and the reason for that? Consistency! During the 21 days you’ll find yourself putting all your strength into something and you will not forget even for a single minute what’s the task at hand. Can you see what I’m getting to?

Yes, we are gearing up for another 21 days of fasting for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and I’ve wondered within myself why is it that God is showing the leaders of our church the need for this purpose again? Well, an obvious reason is that we have new people in the church and this will give them an opportunity to learn about the Holy Spirit and seek God’s seal for their lives. But, is it not also a warning for all of us that took part in this same purpose last April? That during those 21 days, we sought God with all our strength, with so many renewed and sealed with His Spirit, but were we consistent? Maybe after those 21 days ‘other purposes’ or ‘other business’ came our way and we started to be inconsistent in our communion with God.

So, my purpose for us all is that during these 21 days of fasting we can truly become consistent in our search for God. That we put into practice everything that will be taught, and once and for all defeat our old creature. Let’s seize this opportunity with all our strength so that we can always be consistent in our communion with God until the day we meet Him face to face.
